Medical Abortions

Surgical terminations are done by registered nurses (up to 12 weeks of pregnancy) or medical doctors (after 12 weeks) in a clinic or hospital on the same day.

After the mouth of the womb has been softened with tablets, the operation will be completed. The woman will be able to leave once her vital signs have returned to normal after a few hours.

She will get pain medication to help her deal with any contradictions, she will have access to any information that can help her identify any danger signs, and she might be given a preferred contraceptive method because fertility can return in about 8 days after the procedure.

Surgical Abortions

Only abortion pills are used during a medical abortion. To end the pregnancy, a patient would take two distinct medicines at the clinic or hospital. The first tablet (1 Mifepristone pill) will be taken at the clinic or hospital, and the other tablets (4 Misoprostol pills) 1 to 2 days later at home.

Within 4 to 6 hours of taking the second tablet, you will experience pain and bleeding. This may be followed by a loss of the pregnancy. Some women may experience symptoms similar to a miscarriage.

This option is available to pregnant women who are between 4 and 9 weeks pregnant. It is given by a registered nurse or Midwife. For pregnant women between 10 and 13 weeks, it will be given by a medical doctor.
