The holiday season is finally here. For the majority of us, the office is closed and work-life goes on the back-burner. This is the perfect time for you and your partner to take some time and re-ignite your sex life by trying these intimate sex positions.
Here are five sex positions for you to try:
Gift wrapped: Very aptly named for the festive season, this position offers a new level of intimacy. You both lie on your sides, you wrap your legs around your back and then you literally hug each other. The position allows for deeper penetration.
Missionary: Yes, this is common a position and may not seem that exciting, but it’s one of the most intimate: there is full-frontal skin-to-skin contact allowing you to enjoy more of your partner’s body. If you’d like to change it up, the ‘women on top’ version can be very exciting. It allows you to have control over the pace and level of stimulation.
The Lotus: The Lotus position is perfect for when you and your partner want to take time, embracing your love and affection for each other. The benefit of this position is that you’re both completely entwined, and therefore must be in sync with each other’s movements, creating the all-important aspect of mutual trust that every successful relationship needs.
Spooning: It may be simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s boring. When you’re looking to rekindle the romance, this extremely intimate position is ideal. Like missionary, there is skin-to-skin contact with the whole of your partner’s body. It also allows you to be affectionate and stimulate erogenous zones such as his earlobes.
Cowgirl: This is another position where you are in complete control of the angle and level of stimulation. Like the others mentioned above, it’s a very romantic position because you and your partner are able to have face-to-face contact.
Whichever positions you and your partner choose over the festive season, please practice safe sex by using contraception at all times. Male and female condoms help protect against contacting STIs as well as unplanned pregnancy.
If contraception doesn’t work as intended please don’t hesitate to visit a Marie Stopes centre where you can have a pregnancy test and based on the result, make an informed choice about whether you want to keep the baby or not.
